Volunteer Experience
Volunteering has been a large part of my life and has changed me in such a positive way. Volunteering has helped me gain a perspective on life as there is no better way to bring together a diverse range of people to understand the values of helping someone in need. Throughout all of my volunteer work, I have gained valuable experiences which has given me a good sense of how influential my voice is and how to act on the things I care about.
During my time at IUI, I was honored to be selected as a Bepko Scholar, a recognition I earned largely because of my extensive volunteer work throughout high school - specifically with Sheltering Wings. The Bepko program celebrates students who demonstrate a strong commitment to service, leadership, and academic success. Becoming a Bepko Scholar allowed me to continue building on the foundation of service I began before college, while also providing opportunities to grow as both a student and a community leader.
Service opportunities have strengthened my ability to connect with people and offer support during challenging times—qualities I look forward to carrying into my career as a radiation therapist.
